Dr Shoaib Ehsan

Shoaib Ehsan is a Research Fellow with extensive experience and major research accolades, including the British Machine Vision Association’s Sullivan Doctoral Thesis Prize (2013) (www.bmva.org/sullivan), and recognition as a ‘Researcher with Exceptional Promise’ by the Royal Academy of Engineering (2014). He has been involved in several EPSRC, ESRC and EU projects (as a ‘Named Researcher’ with overall £5.5 Million funding) and has made significant contributions with his expertise in multiple fields, especially computer vision, embedded systems and big data.

Shoaib received his BSc Electrical Engineering degree from the University of Engineering and Technology, Taxila, Pakistan in 2003. He completed his PhD in Computing and Electronic Systems (with specialisation in computer vision) at the University of Essex, Colchester, UK in 2012. He has extensive industrial and academic experience in the areas of embedded systems, embedded software design, computer vision and big data. He is also a recipient of the University of Essex Post Graduate Research Scholarship and the Overseas Research Student Scholarship.
