Neil Crowther

Neil Crowther is an independent expert, working on social change, with a particular focus on the rights of persons with disabilities to live independently and to be included in the community and on the future of social care. He has conducted research into independent living on behalf of the European Commission and European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights and has acted as a specialist adviser on the topic to the UK Joint Parliamentary Committee on Human Rights. With Professor Gerard Quinn, he co-authored a manual on the rights of persons with disabilities for National Human Rights Institutions globally. He is co-convener of #socialcarefuture, presently leading work to foster a new narrative on social care in England and part of a team carrying out work for the Centre for Ageing Better on reframing ageing.
