HRBDT at the CSR Europe-Microsoft Informal Roundtable on Advancing Human Rights in the Era of Big Data

On 27 January 2017, Daragh Murray participated in an informal roundtable on ‘Advancing Human Rights in the Era of Big Data’, organised by the European Business Network for Corporate Social Responsibility and hosted by Microsoft to provide an opportunity to discuss challenges, solutions and policy recommendations on the topic of big data and human rights with the aim of shedding light on how big data can be used for social good.

Daragh made a presentation on the international framework, before the roundtable proceeded to discuss the ways in which big data is enabling a more accessible world, Microsoft’s human rights impact assessment on artificial intelligence and big data, and institutional actors’ leverage on responsible governance of big data.
