HRBDT at Wilton Park – Safeguarding Rights in the Big Data Revolution

On 14 June 2016, Lorna McGregor chaired a session on ‘Realising Opportunities and Managing Risks of Big Data – Some Practical Steps’ at a meeting on ‘Safeguarding Rights in the Big Data Revolution’, organised by Wilton Park in association with the Institute for Human Rights and Business and Ericsson.

The session focused on the implications of the Internet of Things, examples of anonymisation working in practice, efforts to avoid discrimination in datasets and progress regarding ethics in algorithms.
